Zenas L. Seyfert

Zenas L. Seyfert, 92, of Reading, died December 24, 2007 in Kutztown Manor, where he had been for one year.

He was the husband of Mildred M. (Brown) Seyfert, whom he married on June 22, 1942.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Zenas B. and Estella B. (Baker) Seyfert.

He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1932.

Zenas was first employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills in the dye department, was later a clerk for the former Stichter's Hardware, Reading and retired from Reading School District serving as a custodian for over ten years, retiring on October 28, 1987.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David B. husband of Debbie L. Seyfert, Bern Twp. and John R. husband of Cheryl A. Seyfert, Exeter Twp.; and one daughter, Mary A. (Seyfert) Bowers, Ormond Beach, FL. Three grandchildren, Caitlin Seyfert, Cody Seyfert and Joseph Bowers also survive him.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service. Online condolence may be recorded at www.christfuneralhome.com
