Wolfgang Herman Heyder

Wolfgang Herman Heyder (90) of Fritztown, PA passed away on May 13, 2023.

He was born on April 6, 1933 and grew up in Jena, Germany. He received journeyman training as a cabinet maker in Germany and then immigrated to the United States in 1954. Shortly thereafter he joined the US Army and was stationed in Korea. After serving in the Army, he settled in Fritztown, PA and built his own home. Wolfgang began his career as a cabinet maker, and then later worked as a union carpenter for many years.

"Wolf" loved being outside and working in his yard. He was also an avid hockey fan, and followed the Philadelphia Flyers closely. He was an active member of local German social clubs.

Wolfgang is survived by his two sons Rolf Heyder, Mark Heyder and wife Deborah Heyder, and grandson Anton Heyder. He is also survived by his sister Eva Hofmann and brother Rolf John in Jena, Germany.

A Graveside Service for family and friends of Wolfgang Heyder will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
