Winfred A. Neher, 98, formerly of Herb Road, Muhlenberg Township, died Nov. 16 at 8:25 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Laureldale, where he had been a resident since Aug. 16.
His wife, Dorothy G. (Kuusman) Neher, died Mar. 15, 1999.
Born in Pennsburg, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Robert A. and Bessie M. (Wingert) Neher.
Neher had been employed as a music teacher by Zeswitz Studio, and at one time played trumpet for and was the arranger and director of the Charleston Ramblers, a traveling band that performed in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.
He is survived by a daughter, Jeanne L. (Neher) Rapp, Lakewood, Calif.
There are also three grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Private burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
