Winfield S. Weidner

Winfield S. Weidner, Sr., 95, formerly of Reading, died June 17th at 1:36 pm in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township, where he had been since October 14th.

He was the widower of Miriam B. (Brossman) Weidner, who died November 21, 1997.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Winfield Scott Weidner and Bessie M. (Bowman) Geiger.

He was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Weidner was employed 20 years at the former Zuber Gulf Service Station, Reading.

He was later employed as a tow truck operator for a number of years at the former South End Towing, Reading.

Weidner was last employed 18 years as a driver; 17 years with GJ Auto Supplies, Reading and later under the name Reading Auto Parts, Inc., Reading, before retiring in 1990.

He is survived by two sons, Winfield S. III., of Mohrsville and Terry L. of Wernersville.

Other survivors include six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Weidner was predeceased by a son, John A., who died 1987 and a daughter, Hope Weidner.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Viewings will be Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and 10:30 am until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
