Willis Chester Starr

Willis Chester Starr, 77, of 10605 Earhart Drive, New Port Richey, Florida, died May 6 at 2:35 a.m. in his sons residence at 33 Jill Court, Centre Township, Berks County, Pa.

He is the husband of Ellen Marie (Sausser) Starr.

Born in Tremont, Schuylkill County, Pa, he was the son of Earl W. and Lula (Baum) Starr. He was the step son of Mildred (Wagner) Starr.

He was a 1942 graduate of Higins Township High School, Schuylkill County, Pa.

Starr was employed 32 years as an founder & owner for Five Starr Carriers, Cinnaminson, N.J., retiring in 1985 to New Port Richey, Florida.

He was also the Supervisor and on the Board of Directors of Hidden Lakes Airport, New Port Richey, Florida. Starr was a life member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association; and the Experimental Aircraft Assocation.

Starr was a Army Air Corp. Veteran.

He is survived by three sons; Thomas W. husband of Joan Starr, Cinnaminson, N.J., James A. Starr of Cinnaminson, N.J., and William D. husband of Tracy Starr, Centre Township, Berks County.

He also survived by a brother and sister; Earl husband of Minnie Starr and Shirley A. (Starr) wife of James Hylton both of Valley View, Schuylkill County.

Other surviviors include four grandchildren; Susan Vermes, Kansas City, Scott Starr, Middletown, Conn., Travis Starr, Jackson, N.J., and Samantha Starr, Centre Township, Pa.

There is also two great grandchildren; Nicole Vermes and Kyle Vermes both of Kansas City.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday May 18th at 11:00 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private. Flowers are welcome or you may make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
