Willie P. Heffner, 91, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away at the Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Shirley (Bieber) Heffner.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Fred and Clara (Bower) Heffner.
Willie was a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War, with the French Legion of Honor and the Purple Heart medals among his many awards.
He was employed by Rockwell Foundry for many years.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed researching family genealogy, was a loyal Phillies fan, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gary, husband of Sharon Heffner. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ryan, husband of Peggy Heffner and Eryn, wife of Suradi Winarto; great grandchildren Colin Heffner, Nicholas Winarto, and Bella Winarto; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Moselem Church Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
