William P. Strickland

William P. Strickland, 64, known to family and friends as "Billy" was a resident of Reading for the past 30 years.

Billy died on January 8, 2011 at the home of his sisters in Katonah, NY.

Born August 26, 1946 in Bethlehem PA. He was the son of William Lloyd and Margaret G. Strickland.

He was employed as a salesman in paper and paper products for Reich's Printing, West Reading.

Billy was educated in Bethlehem PA and Lenox School in MASS.

He graduated from Villanova University with a BA in 1969.

Billy was a U.S. Army veteran and served in a ground support division of the 101st Airborne in Phu Bai, Vietnam.

He enjoyed reading, was a great sports fan, and enjoyed having lunch with friends at 3rd and Spruce Cafe.

Billy will be remembered for being a loving son, brother, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed by his lifelong friends, 'The Bethlehem Gang".

He is survived by his sisters Judy Hill and Patti Larkin both of Katonah, NY and his nephew Matthew Larkin and family of Warren VT.

The Family will receive friends Saturday January 22, 2011at noon with a Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A celebration of his life luncheon will be held at 1:00 p.m. at 3rd and Spruce Cafe.
