William E. Schappelle

William E. Schappelle, 76 of Tilden Township died October 4, 2014 in Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland PA. He was the husband of Jean E. (Mosher) Schappelle. Bill was born December 21, 1937 and was the son of the late Henry W. and Pauline G. (Rau) Schappelle. He was a 1955 graduate of Hamburg High School. Bill was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a 50-year member of Vaux Lodge 406 F. & A.M. Hamburg, PA. He was a member of the Shriners and played in the Shrine Concert and German Bands. Bill was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg, PA. He was employed as an airline mechanic for Delta Airlines working at the Philadelphia International Airport for 30 years retiring in 1993. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a son David K., husband of Lori Schappelle, Aston, PA, a daughter Cindy, wife of George T. Ferguson, Wilmington, DE and six grandchildren: Andrew, Kevin, Jessica, and Justin Schappelle and Christopher and Amanda Ferguson. He was also pre-deceased by a sister, Nancy Dengler. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10th at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th St. Hamburg, PA. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. Viewings will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Masonic services will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
