William Rodriguez Velazquez

William Rodriguez Velazquez AKA "Billy", 73, of Shillington went to be with the Lord on April 24, 2025.

Born in Guayanilla Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Olympio Rodriguez and Victoria Velazquez.

He was the loving husband of Carmen Maria (Rivera) Rodriguez, with whom he celebrated 53 years of wedded bliss.

Billy was employed by Exide Technologies for 39 years before retiring in 2010. Throughout his employment at Exide, he was very knowledgeable and well versed in numerous departments there.

He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church.

Besides being a provider for his family, Billy was always seen taking care of his lawn and making sure his house was always cared for. He was also an avid "Phillies and Eagles" fan he always made sure to catch every game they played. But his true Love was taking care of his family and spending as much time with them as possible.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children. Elvin Rodriguez, fiancé of Carmen Diaz, West Lawn; Eric, husband of Johanna Rodriguez, Shillington; William Rodriguez Jr., "Little Billy" fiancé of Mariangel Sanchez, Exeter; and Damaris Rodriguez, fiancé of Julio Franceschi, Mount Penn. He is also survived by 4 siblings, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was deceased by 5 siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 12 p.m. in Gethsemane Chapel of Resurrection, with burial to follow. Viewing will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 pm at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA. .
