William R. Meiran

William R. Meiran, Sr., of Shillington, died October 26, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.

He was the husband of Jacqueline P. (Baragone) Meiran, whom he married February 1, 1958.

Born November 29, 1936 in Reading, he was a son of the late Walter L. and Ruth A. (Broschowsky) Meiran.

William was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School.

He was last employed as a mechanic with Lentz Milling, Reading for 16 years, retiring in 1998.

William served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton.

William was a member of numerous clubs throughout Berks County. He was also an avid card player and train enthusiast.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters: Kathy L, wife of Kenneth P. Allwein of Fleetwood; Cynthia A., wife of Jonathan D. Barnes, Birdsboro; and his four grandchildren; William III, Joshua, Tyler, and Rachel.

He was predeceased by his son William R. Meiran, Jr., and his two brothers: Lewis and Robert.
