William S. Piper, 81, of Sinking Spring, died February 9, 2010 in Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Janice V. (Eschleman) Piper.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late William G. and Emily (Staver) Piper.
He was a graduate of Wilson High School in 1949 and Penn State University in 1949.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and earned a Silver Star.
He was a purchasing agent for Gilbert Associates until his retirement.
Bill was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.
He was a PIAA swimming official for over 30 years. Bill was also the scorekeeper for the boys and girls soccer and field hockey teams at Wyomissing High School.
Bill was a past president of the Green Valley Country Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kelly A. Piper, West Lawn and two grandchildren.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540. Edward J.
