William Paul Moyer

William Paul "Bill" Moyer, 81, of West Lawn, passed away January 30, 2017, peacefully at home. He was the devoted husband of Joan C. (Kilpatrick) Moyer. They were married on July 20, 1957.

Born in Reading on May 8, 1935, he was the son of Stanley and Mildred (Gabriel) Moyer. He was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School. Bill graduated from Penn State University in 1957. He completed his graduate work at the University of Montana and Millersville University.

Bill was a beloved biology teacher in the Wilson School District for 35 years, from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. In addition to his teaching duties, Bill was the supervisor of the science department. In addition, Bill was a wrestling coach for 15 years at Wilson High School from 1964 until 1979. He was an active member of the Valley of Reading Masonic Lodge #549.

Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting antique radios. He loved attending his grandsons' sporting events.

Bill is survived by his two sons: David F., husband of Laurie (Gingrich), Elizabethtown, PA; and Michael W., husband of Bethann (Harrington), Manheim, PA. Bill is also survived by his two grandsons: Matthew D. Moyer, husband of Darlene (Carter); and Evan M. Moyer.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at West Lawn United Methodist Church, located at 15 Woodside Avenue, West Lawn, PA. A Memorial Service will then be held at the church at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Jeffrey Raffauf will officiate. Inurnment at the Laureldale Mausoleum will be private at the convenience of the family.
