William Daniel Odenwelder Jr.

William Daniel "Dan" Odenwelder, Jr., 76, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He shared more than 47 years of marriage with his cherished wife, Maureen Odenwelder (Kostrab), whose unwavering love, devotion, and support were a constant source of comfort and joy throughout his life.

Born in Bethlehem, Dan was the son of the late William D. Odenwelder, Sr. and Agnes (Hartney). He graduated from Liberty High School in 1967 and was drafted into the United States Army in 1969, interrupting his college studies. After serving his country honorably, he was discharged in 1971 and went on to attend Penn State University, where he met his future wife, Maureen. He graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. A lifelong and devoted Penn State football fan, he proudly supported his alma mater throughout the years. Dan built a successful career in sales and was a valued Partner at B. E. Equipment until his retirement.

Above all, Dan was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He found his greatest happiness in time spent with his family, especially at their beach house in North Wildwood, where many cherished memories were made. He enjoyed golfing, particularly with his brother-in-law, Tom, and took great pleasure in walking his "grand-puppies".

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen; his children, John D. Odenwelder of Shillington and Heather Odenwelder, fiancée of Tony Riegel, of Devon; his granddaughter, Emma Riegel; and his grandsons, Jaxson and Ben Riegel. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Jones and her husband, Dennis Jones, of Bethlehem; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Thiry and her husband, Tom Thiry, of Stevens; and his brother-in-law, Jack Kostrab of Shillington. In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Odenwelder.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at https://www.alz.org/.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. Condolences may be shared at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
