William Edwin Nye

William E. Nye, 77, of Muhlenberg Township., died January 31, 2015 in the Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Joan (White) Nye and they were married for 57 years.

Born July 18, 1937 he was the son of the late Edwin F. & Mabel D. (Williams) Nye.

William was a 1955 graduate of Reading High School and attended Wyomissing Poly-technical Institute (a division of Penn State). He also attended I.B.M. computer school.

He enlisted in the USAF in 1956 and served through 1960 in the Strategic Air Command. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and served a term on the church council.

William retired from Carpenter Technology Corporation after 35 years of employment.

He was devoted to his wife and family and never missed any of their activities. He and his wife loved to travel, touring the United States, and Bermuda and Caribbean islands.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two sons; William W. husband of Susan Nye, Michael C. Nye both of Muhlenberg.

William is also survived by his four grandchildren Matthew and his wife Jamie, Jason and his fiancé Savannah, Michelle and her husband Irvin Villasenor and Andrew and his wife Brittany. Great Grandchildren; Samuel Villasenor, Sean Nye, Ryan Nye, Liliana Villasenor; step grandson Brayden Dohner.

He is also survived by a sister Dorothy and her husband Richard Liptak and a sister in law Terry (White) and her husband James Campbell and one nephew and one niece.

William was predeceased by his sister, Kathryn Burkart

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00pm and Friday 9:00-10:00AM one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park 391 W. Neversink Road Exeter Township.
