William H. Nagle, a retired West Reading jeweler, died Sept. 22 at 4:50 p.m. in the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, where he had resided since June 26.
Nagle, 86, of Gerard Avenue, Wilshire, was the husband of Adelaide S. (Kreitz) Nagle.
He was the owner-operator of William H. Nagle Inc. jewelers, West Reading, from 1959 until his retirement in 1997.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William H. Nagle Sr. and Mabel (Klick) Nagle.
Nagle was a 1936 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and completed a four-year apprenticeship at Textile Machine Works, Wyomissing.
He attended Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, the Philadelphia College of Horology and the Gemological Institute of America. He was a graduate gemologist from the American Gem Society.
Nagle was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Mohnton.
He is also survived by a son, Jan A., North East, Erie County; a daughter, Lois L. (Nagle) Sims, East Stroudsburg; and a stepdaughter, Beth Ann (Shaner) Correll, Hamburg.
Other survivors include three brothers: Lawrence, Monocacy; John, Grill; and Robert L., Cedar Top.
Also surviving are three sisters: June (Nagle) Kruk, Pompano, Fla.; Lillian (Nagle) Wagner, Laureldale; and Jean (Nagle) Lippold, Portland, Ore.
There are also four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be private in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
