William A. Metri, 63 years-old, was a husband, father, brother, son, and friend to many. Growing up in Reading, Pennsylvania, William lived with his parents Pasquale and Lucia (Vitelli) Metri, and sister Diana Metri Napoli. William graduated from Wyomissing High School in 1979, was on the Wyomissing football team, and furthered his education at Lincoln Technical Institute to study diesel mechanics.
William married wife, Lora Metri, on May 10th, 1997, and they raised their daughters Marlena and Julia Metri in William's childhood home. Beautiful memories included vacations, holidays, helping him with yard work, and spending time together as a family. William enjoyed making memories with his nieces Erica Herman, Rachel Campbell, Taylor Hooper, and several grand nieces and nephews.
A dedicated employee and hard-worker, William was the owner and sole proprietor of his company, William Metri General Truck Repair, as well as 35 years working as a diesel truck mechanic for Maier's Bakery. William was recognized for his loyalty at work, reliability and dedication, genuine care for others, love for trucks, and knowledge within his occupation.
William was known for his sense of humor and his caring personality. He could make the room fill with laughter and put a smile on everyone's face. His stories were the highlight of every gathering. William was family-oriented and always prioritized his loved ones. On the weekends, you would find him tending to his lawn, gardening, woodworking, visiting friends, spending time with his family, and of course feeding the neighborhood dogs Cheerios. William was the type of dad who was always there; whether it was showing up for his children's school concerts, sports games, or drives to friends' houses, he always showed up. If you needed a helping hand in the spur of a moment, William was there in a heartbeat.
William has made an impact on many people throughout his life, and his love will live on. We love you.
