William H. Linton, Sr., 84, of Reading, died January 16th at 10:15 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where he had been since January 9th.
He was the husband of Jessie May (Paton) Linton.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mabel (Stevenson) Linton.
He was a 1938 graduate of North East High School, Philadelphia and a 1947 graduate of Drexel University.
Linton worked 38 years as an engineer for Birdsboro Corporation, before retiring in 1985.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Shillington.
Linton was an Army Veteran of WWII.
He was a life member of both the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Linton is also survived by a son, William H. husband of Joy (Smith) Linton Sr. of Lancaster and a daughter, Barbara J. (Linton) wife of Thomas E. Voelker of Spring Township.
There are also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm in St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 1730 New Holland Road, Shillington, Pa 19607. Rev. Cheryl L. Moore officiating. Viewing Wednesday 12 noon until time of service in the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church at the above address.
