William L.H. Evans

William L. H. Evans, 76, Reading, was dead on arrival Oct. 15 at 6:37 p.m. in the emergency room of Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Jordan M. (Marasci) Evans.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Lester E. and Florence M. (Petsch) Evans.

Evans had been employed for 42 years as a controller by Charles F. Luppold, later Carl F. Luppold Heating, Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal Inc., Bern Township, retiring in 1990. He also worked for Jordie's Collectibles, Reading, for many years.

After his retirement, Evans was a part-time clerk at the Berks County Courthouse, last working in 2000.

He was a 1945 graduate of West Reading High School.

Evans was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is also survived by a daughter, Cynthia L. Evans, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
