William L. Brubaker

William Leroy "Roy" Brubaker, 78, died January 8, 2008 at the Highlands in Wyomissing.

Roy was born on August 7, 1930, in Covina, California. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorraine B. (Garber) Brubaker, Sinking Spring.

Roy graduated from Manchester College, Manchester, Indiana and worked at IBM for 29 years. He held various positions in sales and marketing and was Executive Vice President of IBM Japan from 1975-1978. He worked at AT&T International 1981-1982 and as Vice President of Sales at Prime Computer, Natick, MA from 1982-1988. He and Lorraine retired to Tallahassee, Florida for 15 years before moving to Spring Township.

Roy was an avid golfer and enjoyed poker, investing, traveling and was an active member in the Fellowship Presbyterian Church, Tallahassee. Locally, he was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Wyomissing.

In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by four children: Nancy Brubaker Dotter and her husband Ray, Wyomissing; W. Scott Brubaker, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts; Susan Brubaker Pickwell, Dalton, MA; and Debora Brubaker, Spring Township. He also is survived by six grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah and Emily Dotter, Wyomissing; and Hanna, Lee and Christian Pickwell, Dalton, MA.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Edward.

A memorial service in celebration of Roy's life will take place in Tallahassee, Florida at the Fellowship Presbyterian Church, Kilearn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the building fund for First Church of the Brethren, 2200 State Hill Road, Wyomissing, 19610.
