William E. Ketterer, 83, longtime resident of Muhlenberg Twp., died July 5, 2015, in Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Alice T. (Lynch) Ketterer, to whom he married on October 25, 1952.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul and Laura (Snyder) Ketterer.
He was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
William was a supervisor for 40 years for Birch Craft Kitchens retiring in 1990.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Brian W., husband of Jo-Ann Ketterer, Bernville and Colleen, wife of Terry Laky, Brienigsville. Seven grandchildren, Ashley Kline, Erin Hesser, Megan Laky, Quinn Laky, Caitlin McFadden, Drew Ketterer and Mallory Ketterer; and one great-grandson Samuel Ketterer also survive him. He was predeceased by his daughter, Theresa Hesser in 2007 and his brother, Donald Ketterer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in The Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
