William G. Boyer

William George Boyer, Sr., 81 of Alburtis, Lehigh County and formerly of 308 S. 10th St., Reading, died May 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Golden Living Center, Exeter Township, where he had been a patient since November 19th.

He was the husband of Florence Adeline (Kozlowski) Boyer whom he married September 30, 1950.

Born September 5, 1926 in Reading he was a son of the late Wellington George Boyer and Mary Frances (Hilliard) Boyer.

William was a graduate of Reading High School in 1944.

He was employed by Reading Tube as a crane operator for 37 years.

William was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: William G. Boyer, Jr. (Catherine); Glenn S. Boyer (Sandra); Diane J. (Boyer) Shupp (widow of Gary); Kris A. Boyer (Edna); and Tabitha A. Boyer.

In addition, there are ten grandchildren: Damian, Taylor, Nancy, Gary, Jason, Rebecca, James, Erica, Ryan and Terri.

There are also six great grandchildren: Shayna, Austin, Devon, Justin, Peyton and Ivan.

He is also survived by a brother, Gerald Boyer and a sister Kathleen (Boyer) Alsdorf.

William was predeceased by two siblings: Richard Boyer and Virginia (Boyer) Buzeleski.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with Rev. Ramon E. Martinez officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
