William G. Bennethum

William G. Bennethum, 75, of Shillington, died March 24, 2013, in Manor Care, Sinking Spring.

He was the husband of Irene (Wagner) Bennethum.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William J. and Leona (Seisler) Bennethum.

He was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Wyomissing Polytechincal Institute.

William was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

William retired in 1997 after 37 years as a supervisor for Rockwell International.

He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, William, R., husband of Maryann Bennethum, Sinking Spring, Mary T. Krzyzaniak, Clearwater, FL, Linda M. Bennethum, E. Greenville, PA, Michelle M., wife of Kenneth Matheus, Seattle, WA; three step-children, Charles L., Jr., husband of Lisa Getrost, Mohnton, Charlene D. Getrost, Reading and Christine L. Getrost, Shillington; his brother, George, husband of Alice Bennethum, Sinking Spring; his sister, Rosemary T., wife of Paul L. Brown, Mohrsville and eight grandchildren: William F., Nicholas J., Katherine E., Briana, Rachel, Kyle, Stefan and Theo; four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. John's R.C. Church, 400 Holland St. Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to St. John's R.C. Church at the above address. Edward J.
