William L. Emkey, 92, formerly of Wyomissing, died March 27 at 12:37 p.m. in his residence at Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville.
He was the husband of Marie S. (Lanuti) Emkey.
Born in Glen Lyon, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Lewis and Anna (Bush) Racki.
Emkey had been employed for 20 years as an insurance agent by Nationwide Insurance, Berwick, Columbia County, retiring in 1975. He previously worked for 30 years as a theater manager for Engel Enterprises, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Emkey was a graduate of Newport High School, Luzerne County.
He was past grand knight for the Knights of Columbus, Berwick.
Emkey is also survived by three sons: Dr. Ronald D. and Dr. Kenneth D., both of Wyomissing; and Dr. William L., Windham, N.H.
There are also 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Burial will be in St. Adalberts Cemetery, Glen Lyon. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
