William E. James, Sr., 81, of Bern Township, passed away March 19, 2022, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital.
His wife, Josephine M. (Talys) James, died on December 1, 2018.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Ralph and Frances (Oden) James.
William was employed by Carpenter Technologies as a maintenance foreman.
He served our nation proudly and valiantly in the US Army during the Vietnam and Korean War.
William loved the great outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was past president of the Ponies of America.
William is survived by two children, William E., Jr., husband of Kathy James, Fleetwood and Lori A. Smith, Leesport; two siblings, Walter "Lee" James and Carol Blankenbiller; seven grandchildren: Kurtis, Billy, Trevor, Jason, Brandon, Tess and Soren; and six great-grandchildren: Carson, Landon, Kinsley, Oakley, Ainsley and Brexley.
He was predeceased by two siblings, Ralph James and Connie James.
