William E. Boyer

William E. Boyer, Jr., 85, of West Lawn, passed away March 7, 2017, in his residence .

Bill was the husband of Joan E. (Anderson) Boyer until her passing in December of 2002. They were married on May 19, 1956.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William E. and Susan M. (Delaney) Boyer.

He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years.

Bill worked as a maintenance foreman for Cartech for over 35 years. He later worked for the Reading Hospital until his retirement in 1993.

Bill was an enthusiastic member and past president of the Full Circle Music Society. He enjoyed supporting the local music community.

Bill is survived by daughter, Kathleen J. Boyer of West Chester; and long-time friend, Judy Gombar of Exeter.

He was predeceased by five sisters: Margaret Sonon, Janet Serba, Carolee Apsokardu, Patricia Himmelberger, and Suzanne Woomer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 13, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, Pa 19608. Friends may call on Sunday, March 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading; and on Monday, March 13, from 11-11:30 a.m. at the church.
