William F. Dietrich, 83, former president and chief executive officer of a Muhlenberg Township dairy business, died April 15 in his Spring Township residence.
He was the husband of Anneliese (Heitmann) Dietrich. His first wife, Lois (App) Dietrich, died in April 1993.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, he was a son of the late Claude and Helen (Stump) Dietrich.
Dietrich was president and CEO of Dietrich's Milk Products, Muhlenberg, from 1965 until his retirement in 1990. He started with the company in 1949.
He was a member of the board and served two years as president of the American Dairy Products Institute, Chicago, from which he received an award of merit in 1993.
Dietrich was a charter member and past president of the Muhlenberg Rotary Club and past board member and chairman of the township's water and sewer authority.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale, where he served on council.
Dietrich was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1947 graduate of Penn State University.
He was an inductee into the Muhlenberg High School Athletics Hall of Fame. Among his achievements at Muhlenberg, Dietrich was part of a district soccer championship team in 1940.
Dietrich was honored in 1989 with the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Penn State.
He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Dietrich is also survived by two sons, Thomas W., Reading, and Robert F., Milton, Vt.; two daughters, Joanne A. Dietrich, Adamstown, and Jane L. (Dietrich) Guriel, Fort Collins, Colo.; and four stepsons: David Weaver, Wilshire; Mark Weaver and Blair Weaver, both of Spring Township; and Scott Weaver, Shillington.
Other survivors include a sister, Irene (Dietrich) Heaps, Palmyra, Lebanon County.
There are also nine grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton.
