William D. Christ

William Daniel Christ, 92, died April 22, 2009 in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

He was the husband of Virginia Ethel (Kelchner) Christ, whom he married January 10, 1938.

Born, May 19, 1916 in Ontelaunee Township, he was a son of the late Herbert and Helen (Reber) Christ.

William was employed by Polymer Corporation, Northmont, as a foreman for 25 years, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, Laureldale.

William served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Also surviving are three daughters: Faye F. (Christ), wife of James F. Cochran of Muhlenberg Township; Marcia M. (Christ), wife of Douglas K. Reinert of Ruscombmanor Township and Cynthia C. (Christ), wife of Carl A. Vesper, III. of Muhlenberg Township.

In addition there is a brother, Paul W. Christ and a sister, Ferne A. Helbert, both of Laureldale, surviving.

William is survived by six grandchildren: Judy Becker, Carol Schlott, Dale Cochran, Jennifer Crow, Julie Reinert and Elizabeth Vesper.

There are also six great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Ashley Becker, Amy and Jason Schlott and Cheyenne and Brett Cochran.

William was predeceased by three brothers, Woodrow, Clarence and Norman Christ.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. There will be no public viewing. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
