William A. Chaknos

William A. Chaknos, 70, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, in his Wyomissing residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Gus and Isabel (Gannes) Chaknos. Bill was a graduate of Wyomissing High School and Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance. Bill's long career as an accountant included employment with General Battery Corporation, Willson Safety Products and Carpenter Technology. After his corporate experience, he embarked on a second career as the owner of SGO Decorative Glass.

William was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

He is survived by a brother, Michael Chaknos, husband of Karen, of Reading. He is also survived by one niece and two nephews, Christina Weeber, C. Michael Chaknos and Mark Chaknos

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Laureldale Cemetery.
