William Campbell

William Campbell, 80, Cumru Township, was dead on arrival Dec. 8 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Tregembo) Long Campbell.

Born in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late James and Ruth (Thomas) Campbell.

Campbell was employed as a laborer by Penn Iron Works Inc., Spring Township, retiring May 14, 1986.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Campbell was first assistant fire chief of the West Wyomissing Fire Company for 30 years until 1978.

He is also survived by a son, William G. Campbell, Robesonia.

Other survivors include a stepson, Jon C. Long, Exeter Township; and two stepdaughters, Carol L. (Long) Himmelberger, Reading, and Karan L. Long, Leesport.

There are also six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
