William R. Calabria, aka "Curly," 91, of Mt. Penn, died June 20, 2016, in Evans Retirement Home, Fleetwood.
His wife, Helen (Harris) Calabria, died June 11, 2013; they were married in 1957.
Born in Clearfield, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Nancy (Butto) Calabria.
He was a 1942 graduate of St. Peter's High School, where he was the captain of the basketball team.
William was a veteran of the US. Air Force, serving in the European Theatre during WW II.
He was a broker for John Hancock for 47 years, retiring in 1987.
William was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Penn.
He loved to make people laugh and enjoyed road trips with his family and friends.
William is survived by his daughter, Victoria L. Commender, Exeter Twp.; his granddaughter, Katie Commender, Abingdon, VA; and his sister, Rose Miller, Brooksville, FL.
He was predeceased by seven brothers, Russell, Charles, Joseph, Anthony, Samuel, Frank and Philip and one sister, Carmela Bibbo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, with entombment to follow.
