William C. Kelly

William C. Kelly, 85, of Reading, died February 14 at 8:25 a.m. in Reading Hospital where he had been since January 30.

His wife Elizabeth B. (Blemker) Kelly died in January of 1996.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clara (Mengel) Moodhard and the step-son of the late John Moodhard.

Kelly was employed as an accountant for many years by Air Products, General Battery and finally Core States Bank until his retirement.

He was a graduate of Reading High School and received his BS degree from Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kelly was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Birdsboro.

Kelly was a 5th Degree Mason.

He was past President of the Friends of the Reading Museum.

Kelly was a past Treasurer of the Philadelphia Curling Club.

Survivors include one son, W. Keith Kelly, Mertztown. There are also 2 grandsons. He resided with Joyce Middleton.

Memorial Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor Birdsboro. Interment will be private in Birdsboro Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Friends of the Reading Museum 500 Museum Road Reading, PA 19611.
