William Jacob Borst

William J. Borst died early Saturday, March 26th at the age of 93. Born in Reading July 6, 1928, he was the husband of the late Anna H. (Jacisin) Borst and the son of the late Charles A. Borst, Sr. and Rose M. (Gross) Borst.

Bill was a mechanical draftsman employed by Gilbert Associates for 39 years retiring in 1992. He was a life-long member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church where he was active in the Holy Name Society, a Eucharistic Minister, lector, and an altar server. He was a 1946 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School. He was secretary of the Catholic Men's Bowling League for over 40 years and a Korean War Veteran. He was a longtime member and volunteer for Reading Liederkranz.

Surviving William are a son, Michael J. Borst, husband of Jennifer L. (Abraham) Borst and a granddaughter, Rosalie C. Borst. He is also survived by a brother, Robert F. Borst.

Bill was predeceased by his sister Ida M. Borst and brothers Paul W. Borst and Charles A. Borst, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 151 N. 9th St. Reading, PA with interment at Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading, PA. The viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
