William A. Borell

William A. Borell, 95, of Wyomissing, died June 29, 2013 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

He was the husband of Margaret E. (Gehrke) Borell who died May 22, 2004.

Born June 17, 1918 in Reading, he was a son of the late Beulah Cassimatis.

William was a graduate of Reading High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

He was employed as a textile designer with Levan-Gehrke Textile Mills for 30 years, retiring in 1973.

William was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church, Reading, where he taught Sunday school and was a Boy Scout leader in Scout Troop 19.

He served with distinction in the Army during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater as a master sergeant with the 287th Field Artillery Battalion.
