William A. Schweitzer

William Arthur Schweitzer, 70, of Reading, died February 7, 2009 in Spruce Manor, West Reading.

Born April 18, 1938 in West Hazleton, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Beiler) Schweitzer.

William was employed as a master technician in electronics. He was employed by Boscov's Distribution Center, Exeter Township and most recently as a cook for Kenhorst Fire Company.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

William was a life member of East Ends Athletic Club, Reading and a member of both Kenhorst and Lincoln Park Fire Companies.

Surviving is a son, Christopher A. Schweitzer of Reading.

In addition there is a sister, Nancy A. (Schweitzer) Gordon of Kenhorst and three brothers, Ronald A. Schweitzer of West Reading, Ralph E. Schweitzer of Northmont and Kenneth L. Schweitzer of West Reading.

William was predeceased by a son, Kevin William Schweitzer in May, 2005; a sister, Sherry L. (Schweitzer) Koch and a brother Arthur E. Schweitzer.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
