Willard James Longacre, 95, of Reading, died March 16, 2013 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

Born December 5, 1917 in Reading, he was a son of the late William Earl and Lillian Leona (Bubbenmoyer) Longacre.

Willard was employed as a machinist with Berkshire Engineering.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Willard was a life member of NRA.

Surviving is his niece, Linda, wife of William Cook of Charlotte, NC; great nieces, Kate Isaac of Reading, Karen Brooksby and Joanne A. Anzalzua, both of Charlotte NC and a great nephew, Joseph P. Mekosh of Charlotte, NC.

Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Theda (Mengel) Longacre, with whom he resided.

Willard was predeceased by two siblings, Arlene and Vernon and a great niece, Lisa Burns.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Aulenbach Cemetery, Mineral Spring Road and S. 19th St., Mt. Penn.
