Wendy J. Dunkle

Wendy J. (Kline) Dunkle, 64, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Reading Hospital.

She was the loving wife of Michael L. Dunkle for over forty years.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of Joan Kline and the late Robert Kline.

Wendy's careers included the service industry and teaching assistant but her most fulfilling job was working with developmentally challenged children.

Wendy was an avid reader and spent many hours with a good book or working on her diamond crafts, both of which she enjoyed with a glass of wine. She loved to spend time with her close friends attending musical shows both locally and in New York, visiting local restaurants, or relaxing by her best friend's pool. Wendy found joy in feeding the squirrels and most of all cherished the moments she spent with her seven grandchildren, creating lasting memories with them.

Wendy was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. Her open and friendly personality, caring nature, and love of her family will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three children: Chris Benfer, husband of Erin; Jaime Benfer; and Michael Dunkle, husband of Samantha; three siblings: Lorie Zimmerman, Ted Kline, and Nadine Hohl; and seven grandchildren: Andrea, Carter, Lily, Parker, Tyler, Grayson, and Aria.

At Wendy's request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
