Wayne L. Powell

Wayne L. Powell, 64, of West Reading, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Reading Hospital I.C.U.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the Clara DiGuardi and the late Carl L. Powell.

Wayne was a graduate of Wyomissing High School.

He was a professional painter by trade.

Wayne loved football, movies and animals. His "shining achievement" was his daughter, which brought much joy into his life, which he enjoyed on his own terms.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Sara M., wife of Chadin Miller, VA; six siblings, Brenda, wife of Thomas Fix; Mark Powell; Jennifer, wife of Ernesto Beltran; Cynthia, wife of Gregory Zulli; Craig, husband of Cherie Powell; and Deborah, wife of Richard Hoffmaster; and five nieces and six nephews also survive him.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading with burial to follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N 11th St, Reading, PA 19604. Edward J. The Family would like to thank Dr. Coffey, Chief of Vascular Surgery and the entire I.C.U. staff. They were a great comfort to Wayne and his entire family.
