Warren J. Mccarthy

Warren J. McCarthy, 77, of Maple Avenue, Muhlenberg Township, died Feb. 8 in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township, where he had been a patient for two days.

He was the husband of Shirley A. (Androvette) McCarthy.

Born in Huguenot, N.Y., he was a son of the late Maurice and Meta (Mikkelsen) McCarthy.

McCarthy had been employed for 25 years by GPU Corp., retiring as supervisor of information services in 1987.

He was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Reading.

McCarthy was a 1951 graduate of Pace University, New York City.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

McCarthy is survived by two sons, James K., Los Angeles, and Robert K., Riverview Park.

Other survivors include a sister, Irene (McCarthy) Freeman, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.

There are also two grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale.
