Warren E. Heffner

Warren E. Heffner, 86, Wyomissing Hills, died Nov. 16 at 7:47 a.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had resided since May 7, 1998.

He was the husband of Mae (Kauffman) Heffner.

Born in Gouglersville, he was a son of the late Jonas and Carrie (Eshleman) Heffner.

Heffner was employed as an accountant by Globe Mills, Leesport, retiring in 1981.

He was a 1936 graduate of Shillington High School and a 1949 graduate of Drexel University, Philadelphia. He also attended the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

An Army veteran of World War II, Heffner received five bronze stars.

He is also survived by a daughter, Carol J. (Heffner) Klotz, Williamsport, Lycoming County.

Other survivors include a sister, Helen (Heffner) McGovern, Shillington.

Graveside services will be private in Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
