Warren F. Gernert

Warren F. Gernert, 76, of West Bellevue Avenue, Muhlenberg Park, died of natural causes March 19 at 10:52 a.m. in his residence.

His wife, Evelyn J. (Bevers) Gernert, died Jan. 7, 1988.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Sylvester R. and Hazel (Giles) Gernert.

Gernert had been employed for 10 years as a salesman by Boscov's West, retiring in 1997.

He was a 1944 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.

Gernert, who resided with Ruth Melendez, is survived by a daughter, Cheryl L. (Gernert) Gallo, Wyomissing; and two sons, David B. and Darren L., both of Riverview Park.

There are also four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be private.
