Walter M. Zielinski

Walter M. "Kupe" Zielinski, 84, of Lower Alsace, passed away March 26, 2016 at Golden Living Center.

He was the widower of Jean B. (Cuifici) Zielinski. They married in 1956.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Walter S. and Anna (Kupiszewski) Zielinski.

He was a graduate of Reading High School.

Walter was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was owner and operator of Mt. Penn Electric for 27 years, later working as the electric inspector for the City of Reading until his retirement.

Walter was a member of St. Catharine's of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Penn.

Walter was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor who loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed eating, smoking cigars and listening to Frank Sinatra.

He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Walter is survived by two children: Matthew M., husband of Melissa (Watts) Zielinski, Raleigh, NC and ZoeAnn Zielinski Yousaitis, wife of Jamie Yousaitis, Pennside; five grandchildren: Mark; Brian and Andrew Zielinski and Bennett and Cameron Yousaitis and two step-grandchildren: Megan and Ryan Fore.

Prayer Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. With inurnment to follow.
