Walter "Popeye" Willman, 83 of Woodchoppertown, (Earl Township) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 2:20 am in his residence.
He was the husband of Evelyn C. (Kehl) Willman
Born in Oley Township, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Reinhart) Willman.
He was employed as a well driller by C.S. Garber, Boyertown for many years and lastly worked as an assembler for Amerand McKissic, Parkerford prior to retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the Ark Bible Chapel, Woodchoppertown and the Boyertown Senior Center. Popeye loved his Philadelphia Phillies and watching wrestling on T.V. He, in earlier years, also enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 8 children: Walter Willman and Doug Willman, both of Delaware; gary Willman and Kevin Willman, both of Gilbertsville; Donna Dries of Pottsville; Gene Willman of Amityville; Brenda Young of Exeter Township and Mark Willman of Woodchoppertown. Also his 10 Grandchildren.
He is also survived by his Brother: Paul Willman in California and a Sister: Mary "Betty" Miller of Temple.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Irvin, Stanley, George, Emmy, Carl and Helen.
Services for Popeye will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 7:30 pm in the Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main Street, Oley. Friends and Family are invited to view and greet the family from 6:00-7:30pm on Friday. The Burial will be private at the family's convenience.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Ark Bible Chapel, 88 Woodchoppertown Road, Boyertown, Pa. 19512.
