Walter D. Boone

Walter D. Boone, 81, of Leesport, passed away peacefully with his son by his side on February 9, 2025 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Clara V. (Lyon) Boone. Walter was the loving husband of Carol A. (Reppert) Boone, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. They shared many Road Trips together.

Walter was a 1961 graduate of Reading High School. He retired from Interstate Container, working in warehouse operations and truck loading.

A true outdoorsman, Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and taking his dog Coby for walks at Blue Marsh Lake. He had fun going bowling with his wife. "Pop-Pop" loved going to auctions to find trinkets for his grandchildren and great-granchildren and dropping off snacks for them. As a devoted grandfather, he took pride in encouraging and supporting each of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sports and musical events.

In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by his son, David M. Boone (Dawn), of Kenhorst, and his step-sons: Michael V. East (Lori), of South Carolina, Scott East (Vicki), of Reading, and Richard East (Tara), of Reading. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Samantha Manz (Dustin) and Emily Boone; step-grandchildren, Blake East (Stephanie) and Travis Foltz (Heather); great-grandchildren, Adilynn and Avery; and step-great grandchildren, Oakley and Cecily. Walter will also be missed by his siblings: Robert Boone (Cindy), Barbara Hulshizer (Robert), and Nancy Boone.

Walter was predeceased by his brother, Harold Boone, and sister, Mary Boone.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11AM at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, 5153 Kutztown Road, Temple. Family and friends will be received from 10-11AM.
