Vivian P. Bellairs, 90, formerly of Wyomissing, died October 11, 2013, in the University of North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.

Her husband, Herbert J. Bellairs, died June 27, 2002.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy H. and Miriam B. (Coller) Price.

Vivian was a 1941 graduate of Mt. Penn High School, graduating in the top 10% of her class. She attended Penn State University in 1941 and 1942 and Betsy Hicks Dramatic School, Philadelphia in 1946 and 1947. From 1943 to 1948, Vivian was a member of the Reading Community Players .

She was secretary of Herbert J. Bellairs Real Estate from 1954 to 1956.

A longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, Reading, Vivian served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, dramatist for the Nativity program and led Bible studies. She was past president of the Lehigh Presbyterial of Lehigh Presbytery in 1970, where she chaired many posts over 40 years.

Vivian was secretary, editor of the newsletter, and docent at the Historic Preservation Trust of Berks County for ten years.

She had an affinity for crafts and the arts, making Christmas stockings for the entire family; she also loved to paint and do needlework.

After Vivian's husband died, she moved to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter, residing in the active retirement community of Galloway Ridge. A staunch believer in Christ, Vivian joined Christ United Methodist Church. She was active as a worship and small group leader in the Legacy Bible Study, was the Mary Peacock Circle leader and teacher, played piano for church services and provided worship services for the residents of the skilled care unit at Galloway Ridge.

She is survived by her three children, Jacques T., husband of Mary R. Bellairs, Wyomissing; Deborah B., wife of Steven M. Cusick, Chapel Hill, NC and Thomas J., husband of Kim M. Bellairs, Shillington. There are two brothers, Jean Price, Reading and Jacques Price, Fleetwood. Eight grandchildren, Elissa Rautzhan, Stephanie Barth, Shana Bellairs, Thomas Cusick, Mark Cusick, Scott Bellairs, David Cusick and Megan Cusick; two step-grandchildren, Sara Hov and Loren Hov, II; and four great-grandchildren, Luke Rautzhan, Peyton Rautzhan, Joseph Berg and Amelia Barth also survive her.

Vivian was predeceased by one great-granddaughter, Serenity Barth.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 37 S. 5th Street, Reading.
