Virginia L. Wessner, 85, formerly of Reading, died Aug. 9 at 9:30 a.m. in Beverly Manor, Exeter Township, where she had resided since Aug. 1, 2001.
She had previously resided at the Lutheran Home at Topton.
Her husband, Charles R. Wessner, died Dec. 20, 1978.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Schaeffer) Bright.
Wessner was employed for 221/2 years as a cook by the Caum Memorial Home, Reading, retiring in 1980.
She was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School.
Wessner was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Glenside.
Surviving are a daughter, Beatrice I. (Wessner) Flexer, Millersville, Lancaster County; and three sons: Charles R., Bernville; William A. Kenhorst; and Ronald L., Bern Township.
Other survivors include a sister, Carrie (Bright) Wall, Tampa, Fla.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
