Virginia M. Sitler

Virginia Mildred (Wagner) Sitler, 83, of Muhlenberg Township, died July 6, 2010 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

She was the the wife of Wilmer Edwin Sitler who died June 26, 1985.

Born January 29, 1927 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Millard and Kathryn (Herbst) Wagner.

Virginia was employed as a sales clerk with K-Mart, Muhlenberg Township for many years.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reading.

Virginia enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and cooking.

Surviving are five children: Robert E., widower of Rebecca Sitler of Newmanstown; Steve B., husband of Dawn B. Sitler of Mohnton; Richard A., husband of Cecelia Sitler of Sinking Spring; Mary Alice Weber of Leesport and Sheila L. Arroyo, with whom she resided.

In addition, she is survived by a sister, Margaret Hafer of Hamburg.

Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Virginia was predeceased by a daughter, Susan M. Sitler, March 7, 1987; two brothers, Stuart Wagner and Donald Wagner; a granddaughter and a great grandson.

Services will be Friday at 12 noon in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held an hour prior to services. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs.
