Virginia Sarah Weaver

Virginia Sarah Weaver, 91, passed away January 30, 2015 in her Temple residence surrounded by her loving family.

Her husband, Robert George Weaver, died December 11, 1957. They were married January 27, 1944.

Born May 27, 1923 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Jeremiah Albert and Prudence Helen (Moyer) Bowman.

She was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Virginia was employed as a secretary at Vanity Fair, and waitresses at both the Halfway House and Sattler's Bar and Grill, Reading for a number of years. Subsequently, she was employed with Boscov's as the executive secretary for the CFO for 33 years, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, Laureldale.

Virginia was a wonderful mother. She was the life of the party and always made sure that those she loved were well taken care of. Her friends and family will cherish the memories of Virginia, always.

Surviving are her two daughters, whom she lovingly raised on her own: Carol Anne, wife of Marvin R. Woerner of Temple and Maxine Gale Heller of Temple. Also surviving are her sister, Betty J., widow of Charles E. Noll of Temple, and many nieces and nephews. Four grandchildren: Bryon Hans Woerner of Temple, Melissa Jo (Heller) Walker of Temple, Robert Edmund, husband of Desiree (Isamoyer) Heller of Temple, and Marties B. Werner of Lancaster; and eight great grandchildren: Heather L. Woerner, Rachel S. Woerner, Cody N. Woerner, Shana M. Woerner, Samantha P. Nolan, Anthony J. Loy-Heller, Cerissa M. Loy-Heller and Robert J. Walker also survive her. She will also be missed by her cat, Princess.

Virginia was predeceased by her three brothers, Charles F. Bowman, Warren Bowman and Clarence Bowman; and her grandson, Brock John Woerner. She was also predeceased by two companions: Robert Firestone and Andrew Paskos.

Virginia's family would like to thank her care giver, Yvette (Bella) Howard, and the staff at Heartland Hospice who made it possible to be comfortable in her own home.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening from 6:30-8 and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
