Virginia F. Pennepacker

Virginia Florence "Ginny" (Brookover) Pennepacker, 61, died May 31, 2009 at 1:17 am in her Shillington residence.

She was the wife of Ray Allen Pennepacker, whom she married October 7, 1972.

Born December 5, 1947 in Portsmouth, VA., she was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Claire J. (Nihen) Brookover.

She was a 1966 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Tamaqua and a 1969 graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

Ginny was employed as a nurse for 28 years, working a number of years with St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading and last working over 20 years with Reading Hospital before retiring in 1997.

She was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

Ginny is also survived by three children: Matthew A. Pennepacker of Shillington; Amy E., wife of James F. Henneman of Exeter Township and Kathleen C. Pennepacker of Allentown.

Other survivors include three siblings: Andrew, husband of Brenda Brookover of Nazareth, Walter Brookover of Reading and Marisa, wife of Frank Rossino of Jim Thorpe, Carbon County.

There is also one grandson, Justin L. Pennepacker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. John's R.C. Church, Kerrick Road and Holland St., Shillington. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Wednesday morning 9:00 to 9:30 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
