Virginia A. Matz, 93, of Laureldale died 9/22/14 in Berks Heim.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, James A. Wunsch, who died October 1, 2005
She was the wife of Daniel L. Matz who died December 4, 1960.
Born January 29, 1921 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late James Sittaro and Evelin (Smith) Sittaro, wife of the late Edward L. Eidam.
Virginia was employed with numerous candy manufacturers throughout her life, last working for Bortz's Candy, Reading. She retired from Bortz's Candy in 1981.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the Casinos in Atlantic City and vacationing at Ocean City, Maryland.
Surviving are her two daughters, Darnelle (Matz), wife of Donald Schneck of Alsace Township and Jeri (Matz), wife of Howard Mintzer, Sr. of Reading.
Other survivors include her four grandchildren; Richard K. Heffner with whom she last resided, Howard Jr., Michael and Wayne Mintzer, great grandchildren; Richard Jr and Jennifer Heffner, Stephanie, Howard III, Raschelle, Brandie, Chad and Jerica Mintzer and two great-great grandchildren.
Virginia was predeceased by her seven siblings: Rose Bossler, Audrey Dougherty, Constance Fritz, Gloria Sands, Donald Sittaro, William Eidam and Henry Eidam.
Virginia was a loving and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by her extended family.
Services will be Thursday at 2PM in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
