Virginia L. Hamm

Virginia L. (Herbein) Hamm, 83, formerly of Laureldale, died November 29, 2009 in Laurel Center, Tilden Township.

She was the wife of Cletus N. Hamm of Maidencreek Township, whom she married November 23, 1946.

Born September 6, 1926 in Evansville, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Anna E. (Geiger) Herbein.

Virginia was a graduate of Kutztown High School.

She was employed as a clerk in the Student Loan Department of the former Hamilton Bank for 19 years, retiring in May of 1987.

Virginia was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

Surviving is a daughter Donna L. (Hamm), wife of Robert E. Waszkiewicz of Bern Township and a son Donald J., husband of Linda (Stamm) Hamm of Ontelaunee Township.

Other survivors include two brothers, Richard Herbein of Laureldale and John Herbein of Emmaus and a sister, Melba (Herbein) Gallen of Shillington.

In addition, there are also five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one step-grandson .

Virginia was predeceased by a grandson Jeremy R. Waszkiewicz.

Services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Becker's St. Peter's Cemetery, Richmond Township.
